Getting a social tariff with PIP
Check that PIP is on the provider's list before you apply. Some providers accept PIP but ask you to apply by phone rather than online.
Have proof ready. Some providers check with the DWP using your National Insurance number. Others may ask for your PIP award letter.
Ask about accessible support. If you need large-print bills, a text relay service or help from a named contact, ask the provider to note it on your account. Providers have to offer support to disabled customers.
